Marie Betcher has performed in concert at Carnegie Hall, The
Kennedy Center, New York University Recital Hall, The Ambler
Music Festival in Philadelphia, Piccolo Spoletto in Charleston, SC,
among many other venues.  She has toured England and Sicily
in concert performances.  Marie was one of the winners of the
Bellini International Opera Competition in Sicily.  She also won
West Palm Beach Civic Opera Competition and was a finalist at
the Dallas Dealey Awards Competition.  She has sung with
symphony orchestras such as The Las Vegas Symphony, The
Pittsburgh Symphony, and The Austin Symphony.  She has
traveled with opera theatre companies, such as Florida State
University Opera Theatre and Indiana University Opera.  Her
performances have taken her from Toronto to Beverly Hills to
New York and many cities in-between.  Her repertoire spans
from Puccini and Verdi operas to Brahms Lied and Faure
Chanson to Bach and Handel arias.  She is just as comfortable
when performing with an orchestra as soloist in a Pops Concert
or an Opera in concert version in front of over 5000 people to a
chamber concert in a private living room with 30 people.

She performs Operatic and Classical concerts, such as at the Leo
Rich Theatre at the Tucson  Convention Center and the Historic
Stone Avenue Temple in Tucson, AR, as well as Pops concerts
and many fundraisers, such as singing at Capsouto Freres in New
York City, St. David’s Hospital “Toast of the Town”, and March of
Dimes Star Chefs.  Originally trained as a concert pianist, she
was a piano performance major; then was accepted as a vocal
performance major and has her Bachelor and Master Degrees
from Indiana University School of Music and Florida State
University School of Music, respectively.
